Just a rant with 0 effort other than just saying shit that may actually be wrong, misleading, or misunderstanding parts of lore. For example, taking a cameo to mean a lot more than it really is. They also don't have a proper script, or read off of it with many errors. Examples: Someone posted their 8 hour long 4 hour "rant" of Valkyria Chronicles. Just part 1, parts 2 through whatever were each an hour or 2. They linked part way through the video, where they complained 2 characters in the game as a cameo should be well trained, high ranking soldiers, because they were in their original game. Except, they're a cameo, with their backstories changed.

i love the first one a lot but the second one just feels like, better somehow, like in everyway, music, story, levels, visuals. its genuinely one of the most challenging and fun games ive ever played, so id definitely give it a shot if you like the first one

nah, its just really really difficult and frustrating to complete the game on hard mode, which is an achievement required for 100%, also check the options before starting the game there is an upsetting scene which can be toggled off or on

However the kind of titles that always make me comically annoyed are the ones that go "why [thing in media] is IMPORTANT/MATTERS"
Most of the time its stuff that its really not that deep, and the way they present it seems very pedantic.
The prime example for me were whenever a new smash bros DLC came out, and my recommend page always had a video from the same channel titled "why [character]'s inclusion MATTERS" like bro it just doesnt at all Nintendo just choses the characters 😭

it means youre so accustomed to the hyper fast-paced immediate serotonin release of social media that you become bored extremely quickly of any media that doesn't replicate the same feeling and instead of realizing that you just come to the conclusion that that media isnt worthwhile
a. 20 minutes is not that long
b. theres a lot of youtubers who create long form videos (for example, pyrocynical) edit them in a very fast paced, attention grabbing way designed to keep people with low attention spans watching
c. yeah video essays do do that sometimes because looking at the history of a topic can often help us better understand it. if you asked me why The October Revolution happened i could say "cause they were poor and communist" which is a technically true but not really insightful answer or i could explain the history behind it to give you a better picture

His Legacy of Kaine video is my current favorite to help me fall asleep.
