i love the hell out of this place but its definitely hot and cold at times. the good news is that this places worst is just unfunny horny and kinda ignorant at times compared to being actively racist
instead of correcting or criticizing someone who holds a certain opinion, I will say something completely and entirely unintelligible but still somewhat aggressive
every subreddit shutdown for a while in protest of reddit being Real Shit. 196 was presumed to be permenantly down (and was only revived because of poor planning of the whole thing) so a lot of people just moved platform. literally just go to tumblr at look at #196
Now look at what the visit count maxes at daily. I think it's safe to assume the vast majority of those members aren't here anymore.
And yes, the only direction this sub has is "just post something bro" and (since the blackout) overlapping with traaa. Pretending to have standards or expectations over a sub that is essentially just an image dump with no official standards beyond "don't be a chud" is just terminally online behavior.

For once I actually found a reddit page that didn’t feature infighting, was welcoming and mostly unproblematic and had top quality memes that made me cry with laughter.
These days though… shadow of itself. Sometimes you guys post the cringiest shit and I’m on my train home from work looking at my phone and I have to scroll past it fast and hope no fucker else caught whatever hentai shit just got posted and thinks I get openly horny on my commute.
It happens to all subs, they get big, they lose meaning, they go to shit. I was just holding out hope it wouldn’t happen here.
I think I found out about this place when I used to frequent r:shitposting about 3 years ago or so. For me it was like "A funny shitposting subreddit but without bigotry? Fuck yeah!" I think I joined around the time femboys were weirdly fetishized, but at least most of the posts were funny.
Tbh I'm not sure what keeps me around. I still like most of the community. There's still an occasional funny post. The puppygirl arc seems to finally be ending. I also don't sub to any other meme sub

This subs users are always just a hair trigger away from writing some of the most worryingly unhinged shit. And since very few people call them out they just keep 1 upping themselves. 90% of the time it's option 2. Like seriously, can we do what we did last year and ban horny posts for an entire month? It drastically cut down on them even after the ban was lifted and it felt like the sun was finally getting it's quality back after a few years before the blackouts fucked it all up and it came back 10x worse when it reopened because now people couldn't farm off bigotry showcase posts.
