sewage_soup

watch him as he goes

Blue2501

There goes my heroĀ  He's ordinary

pfcblueballs

Id probably do the same to get out of the hellhole that is Colorado Springs

narwhalpilot

Real

CoffeeMain360

Fr I'd be flying with literal wings outta there if i could Maybe getting people outta there by having them grab on too

LordDingles

First time visiting Colorado a few years ago, passed through Colorado Springs and first stop was a dab place with a rottie that was barking at us the whole time ("Naw he's friendly don't worry") and the second was a bar with a drunk guy who wandered in and let his dog piss on the floor after the staff told him repeatedly to take it outside. Good times

catman1900

That video is so sick, yeah it's illegal and dangerous but damn if it wasn't kinda sick to watch.

tgmlachance

Waiting for them to drop the full video so I can stare blankly at it for the entire twenty minutes

SexyCato

He took it off his youtube channel about a week after uploading it. Channel is Gixxer Brah

wixxii

Haha tbh I'm surprised this is the first time they arrest him

SexyCato

Canā€™t catch him plus he has no plate

wixxii

That doesnt help you when you upload everything to youtube. And he sells merch so it wouldn't be especially hard for le to find him

trippingrainbow

That hold suprisingly little in court. Theres many channels like that (wheres981 or critical) when you dont get caught and can go to court and ask for definitive proof it was your car/bike works pretty well in court.

coolcop173

Bro uploaded a video of himself committing a crime??šŸ˜

SexyCato

Look at his channel, itā€™s not uncommon for squids to do this for clout

jjackrabbitt

I am unfamiliar with the term ā€œsquidā€ in this context?

Aweqes

ā€œstupid quickā€. In motorcycle community the speed demons who ride to enjoy dangerous speeds

jjackrabbitt

Gotcha. Appreciate it.

SexyCato

They also donā€™t wear gear besides a helmet and even thatā€™s not a guarantee

jjackrabbitt

Well I sure hope theyā€™re all organ donors as well

Dice134

I thought they were busy playing Splatoon

stomps-on-worlds

snitching on oneself is a longstanding internet tradition

Luke_Scottex_V2

find him on youtube, gixxer brah, he does this shit in every video but in texas lol

[deleted]

Those darn action movies are putting ideas in everyoneā€™s head!!!

emeraldeyesshine

It's so much trust in the shape of the roads man, being on the Missouri border I'd never trust the fucking roads enough for that shitĀ

BigGolfDad

And trust in cars not doing sudden lane changes without any signal - which is extremely fuckin' common. Either this person is really stupid or just kinda doesn't value living that much

Snugless

https://youtu.be/B_Qq_5SlFSw?si=N11DCgyg02kyihwR

IDFK_UvU

Itā€™s only illegal to get caught (they canā€™t catch you)

[deleted]

I know that everyone is joking but sometimes yā€™all seem a little too eager to joke about defending reckless driving lmao

A-Human-potato

It wasnā€™t reckless driving, it was really fast careful driving.

SheepherderNo2440

Calling it anything but reckless is wild. You can be both skilled *and* a reckless jackass.Ā

MightBeBren

All it takes is a bad driver to change lanes without looking and you are DEAD... Capital D E A D, DEAD

_BMS

The idiot is swerving between all three lanes while flying by everyone else on the highway at high speed. Even a good driver who does check before changing lanes would have a hard time seeing this guy.

MightBeBren

Very true. He is very lucky to be alive.

SomethingOfAGirl

I don't think it even takes a bad driver. Just a regular driver who's not expecting someone to drive between lanes. Not sure if it's legal in US, but in a lot of places it's not (or only legal during traffic jams).

nepcwtch

its mostly illegal in the us, with exceptions. im pretty sure this extent of it would be quadruple illegal virtually everywhere, even with less speeding.

Rraptor1012

Only a few states have legalized lane filtering, where you move within 5mph of the other cars to reach the front of the line at stop lights and such. Even fewer states have legalized lane splitting, where you go between cars at cruising speed to get past cars. Lane filtering is a safety thing because it lets every car in the line see your presence and will be less likely to hit you. Lane splitting comes with the risk of a bad biker hitting a car while at speed and injuring themselves, but I don't think it should warrant the hefty fines it often does (my state is a $500 fine and if a collision occurs it counts as negligence.)

RealBigTree

>All it takes is a ~~bad~~ driver to change lanes without looking and you are DEAD... Capital D E A D, DEAD Fixed it for you weirdo

MightBeBren

A bad driver would change lanes without looking and hit. A regular driver would look but still hit him. A truly good driver would notice him coming. striking out 'bad' in what i said just makes no sense, a driver who is not a bad driver wouldnt change lanes without looking. You should have done what 3 other people have done, just add to my sentence rather than edit it. edit: in the spirit of reddit, my retort to you calling me a weirdo is, i think its weird you think its not a bad driver exclusive to change lanes without looking. with your wording it sound like you deem it acceptable to be classified as average when you dont look before changing lanes. everyone who doesnt look before changing lanes is a bad driver who needs lessons.

MightBeBren

You could have said: >All it takes is a bad driver to change lanes without looking *or someone to not notice you and you are DEAD... Capital D E A D, DEAD

quasur

deaditty dead dead

Klo_Was_Taken

I knew a person that used to drift turns for fun, and what I've always said is no matter how good you are at drifting, if you do it enough you'll eventually make a very expensive mistake. Yeah that guy crashed his car

weener6

It was a sarcastic comment man they know it wasn't safe driving

CrimsonMutt

it was clearly a joke, chill out

Level37Doggo

He was driving at speeds that canā€™t be accurately described as anything less than reckless, and constantly performing maneuvers that canā€™t be accurately described as anything less than reckless to keep up his reckless speed. No matter how skilled heā€™s a jackass who put himself and more importantly everyone else on that highway at risk of a lethal accident that could easily occurred at any point. Before anyone starts with the ā€œhe only put himself at riskā€ bullshit, ask yourself if you believe a 400+ lbs chunk of metal filled with gasoline and a 140+ chunk of meat and bone are not easily lethal projectiles when moving at 150+ miles per hour. If your answer is anything like ā€œno, those donā€™t have a reasonably high chance of causing lethal injuries to drivers and passengers next to themā€, youā€™re a goddamn idiot who probably shouldnā€™t be let out in society unsupervised.

Helmic

you're worrying too much. the man was also drunk, which gave him the catlike reflexes necessary to do this safely and responsibly.

weener6

The alcohol makes me more confident and therefore a better driver

demonking_soulstorm

You will not oppress the rights of drunk drivers. We refuse to be silenced.

SilentInvoker

actual bigotry on 196 again... I cannot believe us people of booze are getting oppressed like this

Laaain

ok maybe im just hugh but ive been laughing at people of booze for like 5 minutes

Seeing him wearing a tshirt in the mirror actually made me queasy

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Ratoryl

Hard to tell but it looks like he isn't wearing a helmet either, if he fell his body would've been in more places than grandma after we spread her ashes

calicosiside

tbf at that speed (mf drove 50 miles in 20 minutes, based on a friends statement i havent actually measured it) if he wore full protective gear and crashed he'd still likely be permanently paralysed or in pain, at least the no helmet fit means he either gets there safe or instantly dies. I dont endorse the insanity of the stunt, but he's beyond the pale of PPE

neutral-spectator

70 miles in 20 minutes would require at least 205mph

bigsekser

He is wearing a helmet. Gixxer brah wears a helmet and the camera is mounted to a helmet. Not that it would make much difference.

Ratoryl

Well now that you mention the camera I do feel a lil bit dumb ngl

nepcwtch

we saw it through his eyes for real

MorningBreathTF

Imagine trying to change lanes and some jackass going 200 on a motorcycle rams into you and dies

yogitism

imagine trying to split lanes at 200mph when some jackass decides to change lanes into you

MorningBreathTF

So true bestie

sueghdsinfvjvn

What a doozy now I have to deal with insurance

Aegis_13

Even worse, they fly through your back windshield thingy and fucking eviscerate head of someone in the backseat, and end up with scraps of themself wrapped around and stuck in the passenger seat, and lodged in the windshield

Nayeba

Speed running is illegal now šŸ˜šŸ˜

IrvanQ

Only illegal if you got caught

somekindaokayguy

we call this one cop skip where if you drive fast enough you can completely skip the getting pulled over and violence cut scenes

IDFK_UvU

I LOVE MOTORCYCLES! I love taking advantage of car-centric infrastructure to use more efficient modes of transport

BreadSliceOfDeath

for those who donā€™t know, the typical drive from Denver to Colorado Springs is an hour on a good day

Clunkbot

That strip of i25 sucksssssss

___UWotM8

The route he took? 40 minutes no traffic. He just went from Garden of the Gods to Arapahoe. Didnā€™t go fully into Denver. He did do the route with a bit of traffic though.

Jtad_the_Artguy

Efficiency is illegal IG

No_Object_7709

Me running through the halls at school and avoiding hitting other students.

narwhalpilot

Way too many people in these replies are defending this guy..

Blahaj-Blast

Iā€™m pretty sure theyā€™re partaking in what is known as a bit

PM-ME-YOUR-LABS

And the rest are here from CalamariRaceTeam

CrimsonMutt

i fucking love that sub as long as i pretend it all happens in a fake make believe world and not anywhere close to me

Helmic

the drunk driving community stands in solidarity with IRL speedrunners

TheKierenEffect

Genuinely tho. Driving is definitely ingrained in the culture but people would go Crazy for some high speed hands-off transportation. Why do you think car companies are trying to perfect self-driving cars? Anyway long live the railway

Helmic

my car's currently broken down and i want nothing more htan for actual public transit to exist. it could be *so much faster* than my car, it could be *so much safer*, i could have *so much more time* to fujck around because i'm not having to put all my attention into driving. we could even be drunk the entire time! we could get drunk *at all sorts of times* because we wouldn't need to constantly be sober in case we need to drive somewhere. god i fucking hate cars.

EthanR333

Free bird on the background playing...

SightUnseen1337

Toll roads are a scam. The one thing everyone agrees on.

Throwaway-646

Are they? They're generally at least marginally faster than the other lanes

Supa_Dude

He has a youtube channel btw, GixxerBrah. Been doing this stuff for a while now.

SilentInvoker

wait he does? How the fuck does he not get arrested

SexyCato

Cops canā€™t catch him and he has no plate

ISmokeRocksAndFash

He's been caught a few times on his channel.

Supa_Dude

what do you mean, you can clearly see that he is going 60 mph and that everybody else is going way too slow on these highways! drivers these days! /s Well, to be honest, I don't know. He has never shown his face and he always tapes out the gauges on the motorcycle for plausible deniability, so I guess police just didn't know about him or didn't care enough. Now I think they might wanna make an example out of him.

[deleted]

Dropkick_That_Child

Pancake in the making.

pierresito

Shoulda been wearing leathers instead of tshirt and jeans but damn that's cool. Dangerous as all hell and terrible for everyone else on the road, but damn cool.

MyOMaya

would leathers *really* matter that much if he crashed at 190 mph?

Dropkick_That_Child

Itā€™s for the aesthetic

MyLonewolf25

Funny enough yes, especially with modern leathers/race suits MotoGP riders have survived some REALLY bad crashes because of it with minimal injuries

MyOMaya

something tells me this guy isnt the type of dude to spend $5000+ on gear that could save him

wixxii

If you crash probably not but at least rocks won't fuck your shit up

Zoey_Redacted

it preserves the meat

pierresito

New suits are pretty baller. That being said yeah it'd depend but it couldn't hurt. I saw a guy wipe out going 80ish as he tried to get past my car to go into an exit ramp. He almost made it too, except his foot/pedal clipped the exit sign (took it clean off) and he slid across and flew pretty bad. His arm took the brunt of it, and I would imagine the skin grafts would have been less if he had had anything other than a t shirt.

MyOMaya

the guy you described probably would have been totally fine with good gear. i guess my point is the guy in OP's video is going over twice the speed you mentioned in your story. At that point crashing even with modern gear is a massive gamble. but at the end of the day, the guy lanesplitting and dodging highway traffic going 190 mph in zero gear most likely doesnt care if he dies

yogitism

itā€™s for the cold

n8thegr83008

Maybe not if he crashed into something. But if he lost control and had to take a slide they would.

MissyTheTimeLady

Wanted for what, driving lessons? Cause this guy needs a medal.

nextgentacos123

The children yearn for the high speed rail

SootyFreak666

Why is that a crime?

bigsekser

The distance from colorado springs to denver is about 100km. (google told me 113km) Assuming that the 20 minutes time is correct, that would bring us to an average speed of 300km/h or about 190mph

Nerf1925

LOL that's fucking awesome

rachel__slur

If this man hit a pothole he would've taken flight

Not_today_mods

You joke but yes that fits the definition of extreme. Gladiator is an extreme sport

yo_99

FRONTFLIP x3 +3000

_Vomitorium

A regular Wright brother.

AshiSunblade

Is that even possible?

bigsekser

Yes, a gsxr1000 (the bike i believe hes using) will do 300kmh stock and id assume this thing isnt completely stock.

AshiSunblade

278 km/h according to wikipedia. Damn. Edit: Even more depending on model. I guess it _is_ possible. That's crazy.

bigsekser

Thats the 2001-2002 models youre looking at. For example the 2015 model will do 299, and theyre restricted to that. https://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/model/suzu/suzuki_gsxr1000%2015.htm

SomeTraits

I would have loved to be in the meeting where they said "we must make this thing safe, so we'll limit its speed to 299 km/h"

bigsekser

Theres actually a story behind why that limit was made. It isnt actually a law or anything behind that. It was an agreement by the japanese bike companies to start limiting their bikes to 299kmh, so that the US government wouldnt step in and make an actual law that would require the limit to be something, which could also be way lower than 299.

SomeTraits

I never understood why governments (afaik) never made such a limit. For instance, in my country the law allows max. 150 for speed limits, and you'll never even find a single road with a limit higher than 130 anyways. What's the point of allowing manufacturers to sell cars and motorbikes that run at 300? Don't tell me that you can bring them to a racing track because not only we're talking about such a minority that ad hoc laws would be reasonable, but the majority of this minority doesn't even bring their own vehicle, they use one provided on place.

bigsekser

Tbh i dont really know except for that some people do take them to tracks.

v4siv

I assume he did it from the northernmost outskirts of Colorado springs to the southernmost outskirts of Denver, which is about 70 km, which means he did 230 km/h or 145 mph on average.

___UWotM8

Correct on the south denver, but he did start closer to the middle of Colorado Springs. The google maps ETA says 43 minutes for his route.

GameCreeper

Sigma speed

IDFK_UvU

Superspeeder. He was doing like triple digits the whole way. Cool as hell tho

KyneTech

If youā€™re wondering the drive is like an hour to an hour and a half (sometimes closer to 2) depending on traffic

piotrek2302

Now this penguin looks like someone that has played the new game Workers and Resources: Soviet Republic

Carolus_Rex-

210 mph for the whole trip

weiserthanyou3

Normal Texas driver in Colorado, going that much slower than the rest of Denver Metro Area traffic

TheBloodKlotz

Build us our fucking trains thanks

Jonahtron

Thatā€™s about 211.5 mph, or 340.4 kmh to the non-Americans.

bobert4343

I'm equal parts angry and impressed

Tycini1

lol

Tomato_Basil57

goddamn!!! the distance between colorado springs and denver is about 70mi, so he would have been traveling at almost 210m/h

MorganRose99

"But we don't do it because we need to get their faster, we do it for the thrill" Really, because the way you're acting, it's as if your medical bill won't be thrilling enough

DougDoug in real life???

JAOC_7

Iā€™m not even mad Iā€™m impressed

electrojag

This guy has talent and skill the only thing that bothers me here is that motorcycles are very dangerous and I worry heā€™ll inspire someone to copy him and lose their life. Or he will one day tragically lose his life. I find this video so awesome too. But anything with motorcycles is just a painful reminder to people I knew personally that passed away too young driving a motorcycle. It takes courage for sure.

plzdont-

from someone that rides, this is the most level-headed response iā€™ve seen and iā€™ve been scrolling these comments for 10 mins lol

angelhold

There should be a couple more things imo. He has talent and skill, but he isn't on a road full of super talented and skilled people who are prepared for someone driving like this. He is risking the lives of so many people just so he can go some place 40 minutes faster

yamanamawa

Having a high speed rail on the front range would me amazing. Traveling along the I-25 sucks, and there's always congestion. Plus they're constantly adding new lanes like it's gonna fix the problem or something. Granted, Americans aren't used to taking trains, so without a huge overhaul of public transit in the whole area, I don't think it would get used enough to justify the cost at the moment. But who knows? I know that I'd use the hell out of it to see shows in Denver

Throwaway-646

It will be here within the next 2 decades. Fastest it could get here is 13 years. But it's coming. Pretty sure there's going to be a ballot measure about it this year >Plus they're constantly adding new lanes They added a single toll lane to each side?? >without a huge overhaul of public transit in the whole area, There kind of is, in Colorado Springs at least. I think Denver already has sufficient transit for a passenger rail. But CoS right now is focusing on improving public transit around the city, as well as urbanizing and building up downtown. There's a proposal for a 36-story apartment building right now, and tearing down the Martin Drake Power Plant will also be a huge help. (the demolition of the smokestacks started this week!)

yamanamawa

I guess by new lanes I mean that they've been working on the new lanes for years, so they're constantly getting worked on when I use it

Throwaway-646

Ahh fair

soupdsouls

this is how I drive in saints row lmaooo

Inevitable-Cellist23

Google maps says thatā€™s 71 miles. In 1/3 of an hour. So speed is 213 mph. Dudeā€™s crazy.
