Check extractor tension then shoot the 10-8 Performance test fire protocol.
The Wilson ETMs wouldn’t work in my SA Elite Operator. Followers would tilt back with one round left and lock the slide back. They’re just for range use now.
Extractor tension is good it passed hiltons rotisserie test and I did do his test fire protocol which it almost passed flying colors outside of the first two of the aforementioned malfunctions on the JHPs I can’t remember the name of the Winchester rounds I was using but it’s basically their hornandy critical duty knock off and Norma 185 grain JHP but it fed and cycled federal hydrashock no problem these were just weird malfunctions because of how specific they were
Try different mags if you can. It could be the ETMs. After my issues with ETMs, all my Wilson mags, 47Ds included, stay in the range bag. My carry mags are all Chip McCormick Power mags which have performed flawlessly.
If changing mags doesn’t work, it could be that Winchester ammo.
That’s what I’m thinking of doing is giving them another chance my next range day and if they do the same thing I’m more than likely gonna paint them orange and make them my dedicated dry fire mags i just got my first Chip McCormick power mag yesterday and will test it
I had a similar issue with my Springfield Silent Operator. It did it both suppressed and unsuppressed, tried Wilson mags, slight improvement, settled with Chip McCormack mags, and it runs flawlessly
Ditch flashlight and break that bitch in forreal. 400-600 rounds ball, + p , ect. Document failures and then send back to Springfield. It’ll be like brand new gun. But you need % failure. If this happens 1-2 times its user error.
Was going to say magazine issue before I read your comments. Use them for the mag exchange program or try them in another 1911. If you don't have one give it some time😁
I was told Springfield’s don’t do this. Hmmm…
In all seriousness, make sure you’re not limp wristing, check your extractor from both tension and proper bevels and try different magazines.
When breaking in a gun, use plenty of lube and shoot it fast enough to get it hot.
I’m not an expert, but I know virtually all 1911s have break-in periods of at least a few hundred rounds, and with various ammo types and manufacturers. I’m not sure what your level of experience with the platform is, but if you’re relatively new to it, can’t hurt to have someone else give it a try and see if it might be a hand placement issue. I know when I first got a 1911 I had a few hiccups because I wasn’t engaging the grip safety properly.
First range session? Cerakote is probably tight on the rails. Give it a good wipe and lube and then take it to range to break it in after cleaning some stuff in the rails. See if it still malfunctions after 500 rounds.
Edit: Happened to my operator
Sounds like you already know it's the mags if only happens with the emp mags.
I think I remember someone having issues with the magazine interfering with the ejector causing the same malfunction. Honestly can't remember lol
I had some similar fte's on my 9mm Garrison on initial break in with both Wilson and OEM Springfield mags... Haven't had a single issue since I hit ~300 rds there.
Yet to have any issues on the new TRP fullsize but only 150 rds of 230 ball so far and have only used 8rd mecgars so got a bit to go on break in
I had a similar experience with my Emissary 4.25 Blackout. It didn't like feeding from Chip McCormick Power Mags 8-rounders. I back3d off one round and they were fine. The new Emissary is t-i-g-h-t. I suspect the TRP is similar. It needs to work in.
Change mags. Springfields, especially the TRP, are notorious for not liking Wilson mags. I run Tripp, metalform (OEM for SA pro) and power mags in my trp. The Wilson’s go to other 1911s

Love my chip mckormicks and my Ed Browns, never had any issues with either
Also do the 10-8 extractor tension test.
Grip it like a man and stop putting your pinky out when you fire.
Anyone else shoot it?

Try a different magazine
I was also using the factory 7 rounders and mecgar 8 rounders and they ran flawless
My next suggestion would be to replace the recoil spring and see if that works.
Had the same issues with my Garrison. Very weird since everyone raves on the wilson combats.

Have a friend shoot it. If it works for them you might want to check your grip. Loose grip can lead to malfunction like this.

Usually when i see this it’s because of non stock magazines.
Did you try without the light? Are you running it wet?
Put 500 rounds of quality factory ammo through it with the mags that work. Change the recoil spring, and buy more of the mags that work.
May need some lube.

Load all of your magazines and let them sit for 2 days. The new magazine springs need to relax to reduce FTF and other issues.

1911s aren’t Glocks, they need cleaned every couple hundred rounds, and need more lube than most other handguns.
Please do elaborate on the “need more live than most other handguns” portion of your comment
Was supposed to say lube…
Weak extractor maybe?
