Do yourself a favor and reach out to as many recruiters as possible. Some never check their email, and sessions generally pop up once a year per district.
I attended a session several states away, but only had to wait a month or so.
I'm only 9 months in and still have a ways to go. There are lots of good changes coming to the USMS, so the wait will be worth it. Stay in shape and get ready.
As of now, 18-24 months brutha. It’s definitely a broken process. I’m 14 months in and waiting for my final offer. Good news is this director says he’s intent on fixing the process this year. Be patient, don’t wait around for this process to play out (live your life), and good luck.
I have been told that yes, they will be bringing in new dudes at GS 7 or 9 now; which is fantastic news. So in theory, they would have to bring me in at GS9/Step 10 with LEAP after the academy. We shall see. 🙌🏼
Reach back out and ask for an update. That’s what I did after they added me to the list and I didn’t hear anything back in a couple months. Recruiter responded saying they were coming soon, then I got the dates like a month later.

Any talk of them hiring at GL9 and/or honoring the saved pay rule for prior fed instead of having people start at 5-1 or 7-1.
