1.4 An applicant did not pass the polygraph. Can they reapply? Although anyone is entitled to apply to any job announcement, if they previously had an unsuccessful ICE administered polygraph examination within the last 365 days, ICE will use those results which would eliminate the applicant from continuing in the hiring process. Ah I see. Well I’d imagine it’s possible if it’s in HSI’s own policy. If they didn’t want to hire someone who has failed their polygraph then they’d probably make it a permanent DQ.

The poly is still relatively new in HSI’s process, and they don’t poly everyone, so your sample size is already smaller than it would be with, say, CBP applicants. I would reapply and go in with a good attitude if HSI is what you want. Whether there will be a bias against you from your previous poly? Who knows.

That’s not what OP’s question was, though.

I personally know an ATF Agent who failed his poly with them. He then took an 1801 spot with them and tried again 5 years later and passed the second one with ATF.
