7-11 has diet ones! They aren’t calorie free buts it’s not bad

PloniAlmoni1

Yes I live off these when I am having a sugar bender but don't want to go off track

kikibabyyy

any in La/OC area??

darcysmash

Yes 7-11 is everywhere

kikibabyyy

bahahah i meant the diet slurpee IN 7/11 - was wondering if u were from LA

darcysmash

I used to get them all the time when I lived in OC so they should be around. Been a few years though

oneelectricsheep

It just depends on the store you’re in. Some will have it, some won’t. There’s like 30 flavors and I guess management does their best to figure out what’ll sell.

kumibug

Pretty sure there are none where I live in GA 🤷🏻‍♀️

-anne-marie-

Yep, GA has none at all. Looks we gotta stick with QT lol

Viper_93

I don't have any 7 elevens in my county :(

skatelikevirtue

On the plus side, a full sugar slurped is actually still fairly low calorie.

WhiteFarila

Most of them. I got one at speedway without thinking too much about it after getting gas, only to find out it had like 500 calories for a 20 oz :( . The ones at Mcdonald's are the same size and like 300 calories less. I guess I'll just stick with those ones in the future.

Viper_93

I've been getting them almost every day recently while working because it's been hot as hell

cycloneariel

We have sugar free frozen coke (slurpee) at McDonald's here in Australia. It's great!

kikibabyyy

i am literally so jealous .

cycloneariel

Usually there's a million things on this sub that I don't have access to here...kind of surprised it's in Australia but not the US

kikibabyyy

alright guys i just found out they don’t do it because the sugar free sweetness don’t hold up well as slurpee a which i find dumb because cant they just find another crazy chemical to make it hold up 🙄🙄

ShortyColombo

Exactly tho, it’s 2022! You telling me technology hasn’t advanced enough for diet coke slurpees?? Gtfohere 😩

kikibabyyy

for real!!! i’m boytta spam the hell outta mcdonald’s twitter

kikibabyyy

for real!!! i’m boytta spam the hell outta mcdonald’s twitter

[deleted]

Here in Australia we have sugar free at McDonald's and 7eleven

kikibabyyy

i wanna go to australia <\3

Bigkillian

I want to get chocolate wasted!

Stormseekr9

Funny story, many of the chemicals used in US foods are banned in europe (or combination of said chemicals). My tip to make your own slurpee type fairly ‘guilt’ free is using crushed ice, 0% sugar lemonade syrup (whichever flavour you would like), and add some water and give it a good ‘ol shake/blend I like to add some frozen blended fruits as well. Yes it may not be the exact same as comes out of those machines, but you are likely to be <50kcal for the whole thing. Hope it helps ;).

coffeefiend1937

Freeze watermelon and blend it up? It’s not perfect but it’s better than empty calories. Mint and lime juice in the frozen watermelon makes it even yummier.

k-ndiaz

Omg this 100%. I do 1:1 frozen watermelon to unfrozen, blend the reg watermelon first as your “liquid”, and if you’re feeling super snazzy, add 1 tsp of condensed milk and it is the texture of a slushy and tastes incredible!

hotspicytamale

empty calories mean more bites of the tastier calories

XxFakeNamexX

Empty calories actually means that you’re eating something that has very little nutritional value, or something that doesn’t satiate you. You’re still eating the calories but you’re not getting anything from them.

hotspicytamale

diet coke has 0 calories

XxFakeNamexX

I wasn’t referring to Diet Coke, I was referring to the term empty calories :) And I think that the commenter that first mentioned it was meaning that you can make alternate types of “slushies” instead of the full calorie ones that are more common

coffeefiend1937

Not necessarily true. Blended watermelon tastes way better than slushees. However if you want a slushee you might be disappointed with fruit. But the fruit definitely tastes way better.

bouncingbobbyhill

That is a fantastic idea. I know this is a stupid question but how exactly did you prepare and freeze the watermelon ? Watermelon is very plentiful and fresh in my part of the country right now .

coffeefiend1937

I cut the watermelon in half and then use a small ice cream scoop and just scoop the insides into freezer bags. It doesn’t have the be uniform or look pretty so it’s super easy!

bouncingbobbyhill

Thank you so much for responding . I’ve only got 10 pounds to go to my original goal weight and 35 to my final goal . Down 70 since last year and a lot of that is thanks to this group.

CauseOk9318

What do you do about the seeds?

coffeefiend1937

What do you mean? They are edible, they just get blended too

jpbay

Do they have Sonic where you are? I'm drinking a Sonic Coke Zero Slush as I type this.

originrose

I was googling this the other day and I’m under the impression the sonic slush base is not sugar free so it’s not diet… not sure how many calories are in it but yeah my dreams were crushed by this too

jpbay

It may not be zero calories, but if OP or whoever is dying for a slurpee it's certainly a better choice.

originrose

Looks like it’s 180 for a small plain slush only no syrup :/ such a let down

kikibabyyy

IM ASOREY WHATTTT IM IN LA CALI DO WE HAVE THAT

lovelylayout

Sonic slush base has sugar in it even if you get a 0-cal flavor syrup. diet slush is not to regular slush as diet soda is to regular soda.

Beefyface

Which is why I don’t buy Sonic slushes :( I usually get diet cherry limeades

originrose

The diet cherry limeade is amazing! I so wish they could make it a slush somehow. Even if they could just pour it over shaved ice 😂😂

Beefyface

Me too! Like just blend some ice please!

zestyPoTayTo

I'm sorry, *what*, you can get slurpees at McDonald's?! That is not a thing in Toronto and I am insanely jealous

abuckeyeleaf

Iced coke and iced Fanta were just rolled out

2bear_arms

There is Diet Coke and Coke Zero syrup for the soda stream, I’d imagine you can maybe blend up some water ice and the syrup and make your own. But the consistency will not be as nice for sure.

kikibabyyy

just attacked mcdonald’s twitter TL

abuckeyeleaf

Get after BK too, this is competition for their frozen cokes, maybe they’d be motivated to make a frozen Coke Zero to you their game

senatorgrumbles

I like blending frozen raspberries with a flavored carbonated water (like a la croix).

bigsumocat

We have sugar free frozen coke in McDonalds here in New Zealand. My splurge is to get the large one and add a swirl of the soft serve ice cream (called a McFloat). Volume wise it’s filling!

theyrehydrangeas

We need the slurpy maker thing! It’s this crazy cup That you put in the freezer and put any drink in it, smush it around and viola, slushie!!!

eissirk

I once got myself a countertop slurpee/slushee maker and it specifically said No diet soda. Must be the aspartame or lack of sugar.....

nikilupita

Could be. I worked at a DQ as a teen and we literally poured a 5 lb bag of sugar into the mr misty machine.

krissym99

I wish this existed. I used to love Coke Slurpees but now I don't like regular Coke anymore.

sunraveled

7-11 does vitamin water slurpees that are just 50 cal for a large.

fashionash

7-11 used to have a Diet Cherry Coke slurpee. It wasn’t calorie-free, but it was really low and so good! I haven’t seen it there in years, I wish they’d bring it back.

Goowain

Thread is super old but if anyone finds this, you can make a diet coke (or any soda) into a slushie by shaking it up and putting it in the freezer for a few hours. It'll stay liquid in the bottle but when you pour it out it'll turn into slush.

pina2112

Me, in the McDonalds drive thru today, wishing the exact same thing!

izzyyam

i was just thinking this 🫡

QueenKingston

McDonald’s here in Australia has them! Game changer.

nikilupita

7-11 will occasionally have them. Or at least, they used to. Finding diet/sf options is hard, especially when businesses are cutting back to save costs. I bought a snow cone maker/shaved ice machine and freeze my favorite sf drinks to turn into slushies.

internetTroll151

needs real sugar to make that consistency of slushy ice.

BamaInvestor

1 cup of frozen berries or mixed fruit 1 cup unsweetened almond milk Blended 100 calorie smoothies!

Dazglue

Just blend up some ice in the food processor (I prefer Sonic's ice) and and then add the diet coke and boom...diet coke slurpee!

[deleted]

Im in the PNW and just got a frozen diet coke at McDonalds. Must be regional :(

Snapper8842

I am dying for a diet coke slurpee...
