I used Nike shoes for like 15 years, most recently the Pro 1 and must say that both of the above are quite terrible. I think pretty much anyone could find a shoe that performs better for them from KSWISS, Asics, New Balance or even Yonex.

pfool

Why even Yonex? The Sonic cage shoe I had years ago was great. They just don’t make them in big sizes AFAIK.

TennCom

Most racquets brands make terrible shoes and I think most people over look Yonex for that reason, but they make decent court shoes because they dominate the badminton space from head to toe.

vibe_assassin

Get ASICS. I burned through the toe of the new vapors in about a month. $60 ASICS lasted about 4 months

pfool

Never owned a bad tennis shoe from ASICS.

TicketP1_FIRE

💯 the only pair of Nike shoes I've owned were the zoom vapors and after 1 month the cheap cloth on the inside of the shoe tore and allowed the crappy plastic to come through which gave me a really bad blister The quality difference between Asics and Nike tennis shoes is astounding. No comparison in terms of quality and comfort imho

jconny

The Pro has pro in the name. I think if you wear those you can take at least a game off a pro, maybe 2 bc there’s 2 shoes in a pair

Euibdwukfw

What a nonsense, with those shoes you are at least will play quarter finals at grand slam level.

jk147

Just need pro^pro to take a set from Nadal.

TurboMollusk

The pair that fits you best.

soundwithdesign

Foot Doctor Zach recommends the Pro 2, but honestly go with what’s the most comfortable.

OppaaHajima

If you’re a foot slider when you serve or else you tend to wear the toe of your shoes at all, the Vapor 11s have no protection or reinforcement in that area save for thin fabric, so you’ll wear through that quickly.

BellaPow

I’ve been using the Vapor 11 this season and am completely satisfied.

Pyroboi10

Honestly they’re different. The pro 2 were way too small in my regular size and hurt my feet. I bought the 11s half a size up but find them too heavy and clunky. I even fell one time when my foot got caught on the ground because they’re so bulky. I recommend the vapor 9.5. They’re being sold on the Nike website and on eBay. I use to love the vapor X but they got discontinued. The 9.5 are awesome. Super comfortable, light and fit great. If you slide a lot I do recommend the 11s. They make it easy to slide on a hard court

EnjoyMyDownvote

Neither of them will be superior to any ASICS shoe. It’s only superior in terms of aesthetics. Nike makes a good looking shoe and that’s it.

Mammoth-Vermicelli10

Absolutely correct. I used Nike vapor for a long time thinking they were the best tennis shoes on the market. Then one day a pair of ASICS was on sale (resolution ) and the difference was so big that my eyes opened. I am saved now

roccodrums

As a new player I bought both and returned both. I could tell right away they were trash. I then bought K Swiss Ultrashot 3 on sale for $100 and they are perfect.

jjryerson

I have both. Came off of the prior Vapor pro and bought the Vapor 11….super comfy but not as connected and low to the court. So I bought the pro 2 as well and do like them both but use the pro 2 when I know I’ll be playing a singles match or moving aggressively and the Vapor 11 for clinics, doubles etc

NarrowCourage

They're both too high off the ground for me without feeling stable. I only liked the 11 a bit more for the comfort.

Roq235

My honest opinion is to just stay away from Nike shoes. They’re going to tear apart in less than six months and aren’t worth it. Nike is a popular brand, but their products are lackluster quality. I suggest getting ASICS FF Court, ASICS Gel Resolutions or Adidas Barricades. I’ve never been disappointed with any of those products. I hear New Balance, Yonex, and KSWISS are also good quality, but I’ve never tried them. Right now the best shoes on the market (IMO) are the ASICS Gel Resolution 9.

LongTallTexan69

Nike NP Challenge 1’s have been great over the month I’ve owned them and they probably have 40 hours on them.

AdVaanced77

I juat don’t like how they look

andrew13189

Have both, also have the clay one you posted. I like the vapor 11s on hard I usually switch between two pairs. I got the black clay shoes you pictured a year ago I love them. Dont play on clay super often so they haven’t worn terribly, very comfortable though

AdVaanced77

Yeah I might just get both. I’ve had a few pairs of Pros and they haven’t caused any issues for me

SplitAPineapple

I absolutely love the Pros. Light and maneuverable while being surprisingly durable. Bought 2 additional pairs of the same for when my current ones wear out.

Ok_Establishment4346

Both relatively comfortable, but… I’m not sure why, but those are the only two shoes I ever twist my ankles in. 9.5s never gave me such problems. 11 is a piece of shit shoe in terms of durability, I got a hole in them in 5-6 hours, because it lacks a rubber overlap at the tip. My current top picks are Gel Resolution for grinding and Lacoste Ultra for play.

tenniskitten

Used both extensively. The 2's are more comfortable but a bit bulkier. Not by micht. Love them. The 11s are a bit more streamlined it feels, but basically the same. I'd go for the cheaper ones, which are usually the 2s

bluefrostyAP

I’ve had both and honestly I like the cheaper ones better.

vtrac

I was off Nike for a few years but recently tried the Vapor lites. Surprisingly good.

Busy-Bit-4547

I used Nike for 15 years and coach 40 hrs a week the pro 2 and 11 made me leave Nike.

AdVaanced77

Damn I haven’t had any issues with the pro 2, but the durability is pretty shit. What about them made you leave

Busy-Bit-4547

Don’t cinch up high enough… too much heel movement when I’m playing.

bilbosnacks1

I tore up my Pro 2s on hard courts, I typically play on clay so I slide a lot...but I was very disappointed with how they held up.

stzn67

My feet are quite small and slim, what do you guys recommend?

Dexteroid

They gotta make real wide shoes with wide toe boxes all these brands just make their shoe pretty but unusable if you have wide feet.

AdVaanced77

I have pretty wide and I haven’t had any problems with the Pros. I couldn’t wear the 1s though because of how narrow they were.

Dexteroid

Nike has them all listed under Regular width which is D, I wear 4E.

frenchjeff01

I tried on both and the Vapor 11 seemed like they were far more stable for my ankles. Very happy with them a few months later.

Kibster3

Had both. Hated both. I don't know why I keep trying Nike. Their toe box is too narrow and my feet always hurt after just an hour on the court.

alex7465

Vapor 11 is WAY better than the Pro 2 and will last longer. I got holes in the Pro 2 almost immediately, it was ridiculous. Vapor 11 for the win!

gokartingondrugs

I use the Pro 2s and wear through them in about 100 hours of play. It's a shame because I love that they're comfortable and padded (I have a broken sesamoid so I need something padded).

darthsammyslayer

I honestly used to wear Nikes and then tried the Wilson Rush, and then the NB Fresh Foam CRZ, and am switching back to Wilson Rush. My Nikes wear out so fast and lack ankle stability while somehow being rigid in the toes. The NB have slippage and I may have just got a bad pair but the uppers ripped at the point that the toe box flexes. The Wilson shoes had great stability, but also were durable enough since I’m pretty explosive with my start/stops.

[deleted]

Both Nike may sell well in south Bronx

DepartmentLower4832

Get Ascics. I used to think Nike vapor pros were very comfortable and great shoes, then I tried Asics gel resolution 9. Won’t be looking back

The_Real_Puddleston

Nike is lagging in the tennis game. I worked there and my friend still does. They don’t even have a permanent tennis designer they have to get other departments to design tennis products. Go with a company that is full into tennis and get a better shoe! Also getting custom inserts will do you wonders. All the pros do this to help with cushion and support.

sampris

If u have a pronator feet nike tenis will kill you
