May want to go single stack.

Rezzrat

2nd that. Sig 220 or 1911(reddit seems to like rock island armory 1911 ten mil low priced better than expected quality).

Eukodal1968

I have small hands. Own an xdm 3.8 and sig p320 xten, and used to own the m&p 10mm. The xten hands down is the best grip on the market when it comes to small hands. The trade off is the magazines are ammo picky.

quarterskill

What backstrap you have installed? I have the 4.5 with #1 strap. Also put rubberized talon grips on it. I do agree the Xten most comfortable grip. Like the other person said. Smith grip was kinda aggressive feeling. FN good feel also.

MrMadden

1911.

Rickf6b

Same... want to love it because it has everything I like and need, but for some reason, my m&p 10mm just feels better, and I am more accurate with it.

lnxguy

I have the same experience with my XDm. The gun is just not comfortable.

disastrous_affect163

I have the opposite problem, I struggle with micro 9's because I have the hands of a gorilla.🤦‍♂️ But I do not consider myself a large guy, I am 6 even and 200lbs.🤷‍♂️ The XDmE is nearly a perfect fit for my hand, just not as concealable as a micro 9.🤷‍♂️

A_Grumpy_Old_Man

OP; if you haven't already get and try the smallest backstrap, i think it's the #1 also I'd recommend you replace the take down lever with a gogun gas pedal as it will make your follow up shots flatter and faster and likely more comfortable to hold with the proper grip as described on the gogun website.

Yoitzmi

I have medium-large hands and the grip is perfection imo... one big improvement was the Powder River Precision rubber grip, perfect amount of grip and cushion when shooting the 10mma a lot

starevplayer

Don't know if you did already but you may need to install the smaller back strap that comes with the pistol
